I
received (all in one year) TOP BROOD BITCH award, TOP BREEDER award and TOP
OWNER award from the “Redwood Empire Mastiff Club” of which I have been a
member since 1986. It was called the “Western Mastiff Fanciers” when I joined. I
won the same three awards from the “Redwood Mastiff Club” for 2002 also! My fawn bitch, CH.
MTN OAKS MIKAYLA, ended 2002 nationally ranked #4 BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX TO BEST
OF BREED and my brindle bitch, CH. MTN OAKS MACY ended 2002 nationally ranked
#14 BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX TO BEST OF BREED. It was a GREAT dog show year
for MTN OAKS RANCH MASTIFFS!!!
I have
also been a member in good standing of the Mastiff Club of America since 1986.
I owned
and bred the dog staring in the movie, “THE SANDLOT”. His ‘real’ name was CH MTN OAKS GUNNER and he
was almost 12 years old when he passed away in his sleep. His mother, CH GULPH
MILLS HEIDI TO MTN OAKS is #4 All-Time Top Producing Mastiff Bitch. She lived
to be almost 13 years old. I DO have longevity in my lines. His daughter, CH.
MTN OAKS DOLLY, also lived to be almost 12 years old.
The
November ‘00 issue of Dog World Magazine has a feature article about Mastiffs.
My apricot bitch, CH MTN OAKS SHANIKO (Niko) is
pictured in the article. On the opposite page is a picture of three of my
‘grandkids’. A fawn (Trooper), a brindle (Shadow) and an
apricot (Ana). These three Mastiffs were also featured in a 1997 MASTIFF
calendar.
I
guarantee hips and eyes (for life) in my mandatory ‘Sales Contract’. NO puppy
leaves my home until it has had two puppy shots, two worming series, a cystinuria test and a microchip in place. Usually at about
nine weeks of age.
My
puppies sell for $3500 and up. I start taking deposits when litter size (large
or small) is determined at about 30 days gestation. Puppies will be chosen in
order of my receiving the deposit. If for some reason I am unable to provide
the puppy you have requested, you absolutely get a full refund or first choice
on my next litter bred. If you choose to purchase a MTN OAKS puppy, it will be
a decision you will never regret!! My puppies are very
socialized and friendly due to the constant handling and play (with people)
they receive before going to their new homes. Other than my family.....I love
my Mastiff puppies best!!!
I have
been showing and breeding Mastiffs for over twenty-two years. It is so rewarding to know I am producing
some of the best Mastiffs available. Health and temperament are very big issues
in my breeding program. For this I do
the needed genetic testing on every Mastiff before he/she is used for breeding
purposes. Even if you don’t plan to show (which I don’t require) you should
also be concerned about these issues for the sake of your puppy’s future well
being.
